BBS
Chorus "Gareungbinga"
Founded in 1995 as the female chorus and has performed in
numerous concerts which includes The special concert "The
Sacred Encounter" at Sejong Cultural Center, Korean
Sacred Music Festival at Seoul Art Center, Charity Concert
for Children with leukemia at Hoam Art Hall, World Buddhist
Culture Fair at Yong-In Everland, ets., BBS Chorus performed
their 4th season concert successfully at KBS Hall last year.
This is Lincoln Center debut of the BBS Chorus.
Sung Beom Kim, Conductor
Majored voice music at Yon-Se University, Seoul, Korea and
studied voice music in Manhattan School of Music. Currently
Mr. Kim is the faculty of Yon-Se University.

Coro
Cantico Nuevo
Was formed in October 1988 as Proyecto Cantico Nuevo's
first program, under the leadership of Jorge Lockward.
The main objective of the choir is to enrich worship of
Hispanic churches introducing in its' liturgy, the music
of Hispanic composers, typical musical instrumental of
our country, there givign respect and acceptance to our
cultural values.
Coro Cantico Nuevo has performed in many churches and
concert halls in the United States and participated as
representative of the Hispanic Community in various activities.
The choir often frequents concerts and worship services,
as well as performances in hospitals Jails, Homes for
the elderly, and Summer Concert Tour,(Puerto Rico, 1992/
Eastern United State 1993/ Mid West USA 1994/ Florida
1995/ San Antonio, TX, 1996/ Los Angeles 1997, Grand Rapids,
Michigan 2000).
We offer you, ourselves, singing and glorifying God in
our songs and showing in our diversity a reflection of
the Unity and love in the body of Christ.
Jorge
A. Lockward, Conductor was born in the Dominican Republic
to a family with strong artistic and musical traditions.
A pianist, arranger and choir conductor.
Mr. Lockward studied musicology at The City College of
New York and Rutgers University. He is the co-founder
and conductor-in-residence of Cantico Nuevo(New Song),
a worship and arts ecumenical project in New York City.
Mr. Lockward currently works as Global Praise Program
Coordinator for the General Board of Global Ministries
of the United Methodist Church where he recently edited
and recorded a collection of Latin American hymnody titled
"Tenemos Esperanza". On the secular arena, his
credits include the musical direction of "Serenata
Dominicana" (1996 ACE Award for Best Musical)and
Caribel, both at Repertorio Espa?l, Thalia's Spanish Theather
production of the Spanish Zarzuela "La Parranda"
and Teatro C?culo's production of Cervante's "Entremeses"

TKC
Boys' and Girls' Choir
Established
in 1996, TKC Boys' and Girls' Choir is affiliated with
the Korean Channel(TKC 76, President Han, Sang Ki), a
local cable TV station that serves Queens and Manhattan.
The Choir was formed out of a growing concert that the
Korean cultural heritage needed to be reinforced among
Korean American youths. Since it's formation the Choir
has grown with the community. It performs four annual
concerts and has been invited to many cultural and charity
events such as Pacific American Heritage Month Concert
for the U.S. Army at Fort Hamiliton, The Multi-Asian ethnic
stage Performance at Queensborough Community College,
and much more.

Chorus
" Samadhi" of Hanmaum Zen Center of NY
was founded as Hanmaum Mothers' Chorus in 1994. Then
changed the name into the present one in 1999. The
word "Samadhi"has been dedication chants
not only to the regular worship service, but also
to the special occasions such as service with Rev.
Beop Jung in 2000 and the concert for World Peace
held at Queens library in 2001.
Young
Ran Choe, Conductor is the graduate of Ewha Women's
University(B.M.) and completed her Master of Music in
piano performance at Manhattan School of Music. Ms. Choe
had her solo recital at Carnegie Weil Hall as the reward
for the winner of the Artists' International Competition
in 1999. She has been serving as the conductor of the
Chorus "Samadhi" since 1998.

New
York Consort
New
York Consort was formed in 1994, inspired by the love
of singing and the camaraderie that choral singing brings.
Members consist of Filipino professionals from the tri-state
area who have sung with the premier choral groups in
the Philippines. They have merged their chared musical
talent and passion to showcase Filipino musical artistry
and contribute to the rich diversity of American culture.
The groups varied repetoire ranges from Asian to Western
works, and from classical to contemporary music.
The New York Consort has performed extensively in New
York area, earning praise for "it's solid musical
experience and profound knowledge of the art"
They have performed at world renowned Music halls including
Merkin Hall, Alice Tully Hall and Florence Gould Hall
in New York City. The New York Consort was featured
in the 1996 Asian Festival held at Lincoln Center. They
also participated the 1st International Music Festival
in Stamford, Connecticut in 1997. The Group performed
at a gala gundraising of the Foundation Elf Aquitaine's
presentation of Treasures of San Diego. This was a joint
collaboration of Philippine and French governments.
They have also concertized at different events sponsored
by various civic and religious organizations including
Kahirup Foudation. Inc. And the Philippine independence
Day Committe. They recently sang at the Memorial Concert
dedicated to the families of the World Trade Center
victims held at the New Jersey Performing Art Center
and at a memorial Mass St. Patrick's Cathedral with
President Macapagl-Arroyo of the Philippines and Cardinal
Egan in attendance. The Group has also sung in private
functions all over the tri-state area.

Jerry
Maso, Conductor earned two bachelor of Music degrees from
the University of the Philippines College of Music and holds
a Master of Fine Arts in Music Education and Choral Conduction
from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden.
He has extensive experience with noted Swedish choirs under
the tutelage of Gunnar Eriksson and Gsta, Ohlin, performing
throughout Scandinavia and Europe. Jerry is a member of the
International Federation for Choral Music and has participated
in various choral symposia and workshops in Europe and North
America. He served as Administrator and Faculty in Voice and
Choral Conducting at the Asian Institute for Liturgy and Music.
Professor in Voice and Choral Music at Nyack College in Nyack,
New York, Church Music Director at Sayreville Presbyterian
Church in Sayreville, NJ and Music Teacher at St. Helena School
at Edison, NJ.

York Grand Beat Choral
Founded in 2001 and completed two concerts successfully.
Members of this small but beautifule male ensemble are the
alumni of Dae Gwang Hight School of SEoul, Korea. This evening
is their Lincoln Center debut.

Jewish
People's Philharmonic Chorus
The
Jewish People's Philharmonic Chorus is proud to be at the
forefront of this Yiddish cultural renaissance. Centuries
of hope, determination, humor, loss and renewal are bound
up in each note they sing. The voices of sweatshop workers
immigrants, lovers, mothers, soldiers and tumlers speak
through their music. At its founding in 1923 on New York's
Lower East Side, the Jewish People's Philharmonic Chorus
(Known then as "Freiheit's Gezang Farein") was a vocal part
of the Burgeoning labor movement. Drawing 75 young immigrants
to its first rehearsal, the chorus has had as many as 300
singers. When the Chorus performed Jacob Schaefer's oratorio
"Tsvey Brider" in 1926, They were the first Jewish chorus
in America to perform with an orchestra.
During its many years as part of the nationwide, 30-chorus
Jewish Workers Music Alliance, the Chorus was conducted
by such renowned composers as Lazar Weiner, Jacob Schaefer,
Max Helfman and Maurice Rauch. The Chorus has threled audiences
at Carnegie Hall, Town Hall and Avery Fisher aHall at Lincoln
Center during 20years of annual concerts of the Jewish Cultural
Clubs and Societies. Their concerts have featured special
guests such as Mina Bern, Ben Bonus. Michael Michalovitch,
Howard da Silva and Elly Stone. In addition to performing
works as its legendary conductors, The Jewish People's Philharmonic
Chorus has brought to life the songwriting of Mordkhe Gebirtig,
Abraham Goldfaden and Mark Warshavsky, the lyrics and poems
of Sholom Aleichem, David Edelshtadt, Itzik Feffer Itshe
Goldberg, Itzik Manger, Y.L. Perets, avrom Reysen, Morris
Rosenfeld, Avrom Sutzkever, Wolf Younin and Chaim Zhtlowsky
and the music of Vladimir Heifetz, Alexander Olshanetsky
and Sholom Secunda.

The
Ebony Ecumenical Ensemble
The Ebony Ecumenical Ensemble, Inc. was founded by Bettye
F. Forbes for participation in the reopening of the renovated
James Memorial Chapel at Union Theological Seminary of New
York City in 1979. The Ensemble has captivated audiences
throughout the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and
Connecticut as well as other parts of the East Coast and
the Midwest. The Ensemble has earned international acclaim
for its performance throughout South Korea for the 46th
Anniversary of South Korea's Christian Broadcasting System
in 2000 and in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as
part of the International Black Arts Festivals of 1986 and
1988. The Ensemble has also performed at New York's famous
Carnegie Hall for the Korean Sacred Choral Festival in July
of 1997, at Lincoln Center, Alice Tully Hall in 1999 and
2000 for its 20th and 21st anniversaries. A highlight of
the 2001-2002 Season was a recent performance at the Beacon
Theater with the critically acclaimed production of Three
Mo' Tenors. Other highlights of the Ensemble include singing
for the opening gala celebration for the Broadway show,
Jesus Christ, Superstar: performing background choral vocals
for Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville at the annual Toys'R'Us
Special Children's Benefit Concert performing for former
South African President Nelson Mandala at the welcoming
ecumenical service held in his honor at The Riverside Church
in New York City on his first trip to the United States
in 1990; appearing as guest artists on jass vibraphonist
Jay Hoggard's album, "Love Survives" in 1980;
performing for the Archbishop Desmond Tutu's visits durignt
the struggle for south African freedom; and the first recordign
album, "Release Your Song" and a promotional tape.
"It has been very exciting to watch the growth of The
Ebony Ecumenical Ensemble over the past 22years. The Ensemble
has become an inter-generational body over 40 members from
many different walks of life. "Says founder and director
Bettye F. Forbes. The Ensemble inspires hope through its
music ministry with spirit-filled presentations at churches,
concert halls, hospitals, prisons, civic organizations,
colleges, universities and denominational meeting. Audiences
are blessed and enthralled by the eclectic repertoire of
The Ensemble at every performance.
Bettye
F. Forbes, Conductor
Bettye Franks Forbes, the founder and director of The Ebony
Ecumenical Ensemble earned her Bachelor and Master of Music
Education degrees at Howard University, and studied choral
conducting under the guidance of Professor Evelyn White
and the late Dean Warner Lawson.
A member of the National Music Honor, Society Pi Kappa Lambda,
she is also active in the American Choral Directors Association
and the Gospel Music Workshop of America. She is the recipient
of awards from numerous organizations, including Concerned
Women of Brooklyn, the Religious Television Programming
Organization, Key Women of America, Inc. and the American
Negro Spiritual Research Foundation. She has inspired youth
in choral music at secondary schools and colleges in North
Carolina, Virginia and Washington, D.C..
She also presents joint workshops in New York City. Mrs.
Forbes' dedication to promoting the music of the African
American religious experiences is the hallmark of The Ebony
Ecumenical Ensemble, Inc.
